Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh (Sungai Way)

Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh, nicely tucked in the corner of Sungai Way village (right opposite an Indian temple) is generally packed with people but getting a table is still manageable.  You can easily differentiate it from another BKT shop not far from Ah Sang BKT by looking at the crowd outside and inside the shop.  The menu is rather simple although one can request for special parts of the pork.

Service was very fast and our orders were served rather quickly.  Additional side requests were also met very fast by different workers from the ones that took the orders, its as if they have a very efficient communication system.  The soup base comes with the usual taste of herbs, 枸杞, mushroom and taofu pok ... the only thing that is surprising is the choi sam that's place nicely on top. However, the choi sam didn't really blend well with the general BKT ingredient, yao mak may work better.  The soup is a little salty though. They are quite generous in giving at least 10 pieces of soft-bone pork for a single serving.

BKT meal
Yao Char Guai was served with an additional bowl of BKT soup, and the onion rice tasted rather decent as well.

A single serving like this can be very filling for one person.

Whilst enjoying the BKT, one should not go without cut chilies padi + black sauce + soy sauce.

Tea decor
Some ancient chinese teas were displayed in two cupboards mounted on the wall of the shop.  For refills of teapots, its the usual self-service hot water dispenser near the kitchen at the back.

WILL WE COME BACK? - Maybe (soup base is a little salty)
