33 Blue Room (Petaling Jaya)

It was a surprise to find this new restaurant nested within a light industrial area in PJ 51A.  The place gives a cozy feeling with light jazzy music and a wall of wine bottles with nostalgic-type pictures at the side, which fits the name of the restaurant ... "The Blue Room".  It is comfortable sitting and enjoying the meal in there.  This is a conducive environment for some private and chilled gathering.  The staffs were quite friendly as well.  There are also sitting arrangements on the second floor that overlooks some parts of the ground floor for some added privacy.  Most of the dishes on the menu are porky-related and it can be enjoyed with their selection of wines.

The mushroom soup tastes decent with a slice of bacon and bread.  The strongness of the mushroom taste can be further improved whilst a few more chunky mushroom cubes would be good as well.  The bacon is a nice addition to enhance the taste of the soup.

The first impression of the Grilled Pork Steak is normal enough, but one bite into the tender and juicy meat will definitely impress, truly enjoyable.  The marination is sufficient with enough balance between meat and fats that blends well.  The accompanying sauce is not much to shout about, but still gave a nice touch to the meat.  Not to forget is the balsamic vinegered-salad at the side, which will balance the meaty taste bud.

The lunch set comes with a complimentary lemon tea drink (hot or cold) using Twinings tea.  It shows the restaurant does not compromise on their food quality.

WILL WE COME BACK? - Yes
(nice food with a nice ambience.  We hope the dinner session is accompanied with a live jazz band, probably something to check out in our next trip there.)
